Catherine Ghouse Location: Thame

Catherine is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist specialising in evidence based psychological therapy for children and young people. As well as having a small private practice, she is also working as a Senior Clinical Tutor at the University of Reading.

Catherine has over 14 years of working with children and young people and families within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the NHS.  Catherine aims to work together with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties and to enable them to work towards individual goals to bring about positive changes. CBT can help build resilience via developing new ways of coping and can be particularly effective in helping people with anxiety (including Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety, Separation Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and low mood/depression (including low self-esteem).

Qualifications

  • Post-graduate Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapies for Children and Young People (CBT)
  • Masters in Applied Social Studies (including Diploma in Social Work)
  • Post-graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Communication with Children
  • Accreditation
  • Fully accredited with the BABCP
  • Professional Bodies
  • Professional registration as a Social Worker with the HCPC
